Tournament
Organizing Committee
All games will be play accordance with
Softball Canada and rules set by the Tournament Organizing Committee.
THERE
WILL BE NO CHANGES MADE ON THE SCHEDULE AFTER IT HAS
FINALIZED.ANY TEAM
WISHING TO CHANGE THEIR TIME SCHEDULE BE WILL BE PENALIZED IN THE AMOUNT OF
$300.00.
The Tournament committee, the Cree
Nation of Waskaganish and the Recreation Department or any of the volunteers of
the tournament are not held responsible should an accident or injury occur
during the tournament on the playing area, in the stands or round the premises
of the ball-field.
It is mandatory to inform the Cree
Nation of Waskaganish and the Recreation Department of your team's arrival.
All local teams must be ready to play
on Thursday evening and all visiting teams be ready to play on Friday morning
on August 12, 2011.
No player, coach or manager shall be
allowed to play under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. If any player is
found guilty under the influence will be asked to leave the team's
bench/dugout.He or she will face
expulsion from the reminder of the tournament.
The umpire's decision is final in any
game.
Any player(s) disrespecting the
UMPIRE(s) or other participants or found guilty of intent to injure will be
expelled from the tournament and banned from participating in future tournament
upon the conditions set by the Tournament Organizing Committee.
Any player found guilty of fighting
during a game or around the premises of the ball field will be expelled for the
reminder of the tournament upon the discretion of the organizing committee.
A player(s) must play one (1) regular
game in order to qualify in the playoffs.

Eligibility
.For men & women's softball
categories the players must be 16 yrs & up and have a written parental
consent form signed by a parent or a guardian.However, each team is granted two 15 yr olds.In men's fast pitch all players must be at
least 18 years old.However, each is
granted two underage players but must have a parental consent form signed by a
parent or guardian. No exceptions!
This tournament is open to native
& non native players however; a non native player must be playing for/with
a native community.
IMPORT
RULE:In a population of less than 1000 four (4)
imports are allowed.Morethan 1000 two (2) imports are allowed.
Any player has resided in another
community and if he/she wants to play for his/her home community he/she is not
considered as an import.
A person residing in a Community for a
period of one (1) year shall not be considered an import to represent that
community. PROOF MUST BE PRESENT TO THE COMMITTEE.Each team must provide copies regarding proof
of residence of their imports before the game.
Tournament
schedule and games
The tournament will be played in round
robin format.
There must be at least seven (7)
players on the field to start any given game. Note:ANY
EMPTY SPOT
IN THE BATTING ORDER. (i.e. 7 players- 2 empty spots) SHALL BE AN AUTOMATIC OUT.A toss of coin will be decided on which team
bats and take the field.
A maximum delay of fifteen (15)
minutes after the set game time is allowed for the teams to be present at the
ball field.After this time the game
shall be a defaulted.The losing team
shall lose by 5 runs to 0.

If there is a ten (10) run difference in the score after three (3) complete
innings of play inthe round robin
and play-off games, the games will be over. The same applies after five (5)
Innings in the finals games.
The
line up presented at the first round robin shall be the official line up for
the entiretournament. If found guilty of using other players not listed on their
first line up will lose by default. (5-0) NO
EXCEPTIONS!
All games will be subject to a time limit of 1
hour and 30 minutes.No new inning
maybegin. The clock begins immediately
to from the time that the pr-game conference ends.It is the home plate umpire's responsibility
to record the start time and to announce it to both teams. Failure of the
umpire to make such announcement, however, does not change the game's official
start time. Also, if the time limit is up and the home team leading and at bat,
then the game will end at the point (i.e the final inning is not completed in
this case). THIS RULE WILL BE IN AFFECT
DURING ROUND ROBIN OF PLAY ONLY.
19.
Each team must pay their entry fee before they start their first game, if not
shall lose the game by forfeit.
All

(5) runs per inning, last inning open.
STANDINGS:
Games will be determined as follows:

Loss-0

Tie-1
point
Tie-breakers in standings shall be as
follows:
The team that has beaten the one it is
equal with will be ranked higher (head to head results)
The difference between runs for and
runs against for all games.
The team with the most runs for the
all game.
The team with the most runs for the
first game..
The team with the most runs for the
first innings.
The team with the fastest run (highest
in batting order to score) in the first inning.
In case of a
three way-way tie use ii) to vi).
In
all categories, the batter must wear a batting helmet.According to Quebec's Softball Federation is
a mandatory to wear a helmet. It is optional while running the bases.
No
player will be allowed to play in two (2) categories and/or with two (2) or
more teams.
In
the fast pitch category: The pitcher MUST
have two (2) feet on the pitcher's plate
then may back
step and jump but from the pitcher's plate. No stepping forward or a
bulk will be
called.
26.Use of baseball and titanium bats is strictly
prohibited
27.
If any team wishes to protest may do so within a half hour (30 minutes) or less
after
the game that
the team is protesting also must pay a non-refundable fee $500.00 so
the committee
may acknowledge the protest. If a team doesn't come up with the
protest fee
without 30 minutes after the game. THE
PROTEST WILL NOT BEVALID.
IN
CASE OF A PROTEST, the Tournament Organizing Committee
will have a
disciplinary
Committee(s) to investigate and make a decision on the set protest . The
disciplinary
Committee(s) will consist of five (5) individuals depending of which
communities
are involved in the protest. All
DECISIONS MADE BY THE
DISCILINARY COMMITTEE WILL BE FINAL AND RESPECTED BY ALL.
Steel
cleats will be permitted ONLY in
fast pitch category.Anyone caught with intent to spike (using
cleats to hurt another player), will be expelled from the tournament.
